Online Voting Period: Monday, 10th March at 9:00 AM – Wednesday, 12th March 2025 at 4:00 PM.

About Weightlifting Society

Olympic weightlifting is a strength based sport that involve two lifts. The snatch a well as the clean and jerk. Three attempts are given for each lift, with the goal of achieving the highest weight in both lifts.

The sport can be done as a hobby or competitively. Olympic Weightlifting is commonly used to increase strength and power for other sports.

The goal of this club is to teach it’s members the lifts and coach them to becoming stronger!

Our two founders are Dylan Finucane and Gary Sean Harvey. Both have competed in and won national championships with Gary also representing Ireland internationally.
